The iconic bridge that crosses the harbour in Sydney. If you're not too scared of heights you can actually take a climbing tour to the top. Amazing!

You'd have to be blind to miss Sydney's Chinatown. Exotic, beautiful and a feast of sounds, smells and tastes. Some eateries in the area do not close until 4am. Do check out the main market areas.

When to go
The season's are the opposite of the UK, so when the weather gets cold at home, grab a cheap flight to Sydney and bask in the sunshine. In saying that, Sydney is a good year-round destination.

How to get there
Flights to Sydney from the UK take about 20 hours and are very frequent. Sydney flights are not direct, but you have a range of stop-over options which could make a nice mini-break. Flights to Sydney are usually cheapest from June to August and most expensive January to March and over Christmas. Prices vary greatly so it's very important to search a range of providers.

What to do
Like all big cities, Sydney has a great range of restaurants, bars, museums, parks and shops. What you won't always find in major cities are amazing beaches. Manly and Bondi beaches are great for a day of soaking up the sun and have a fun seaside vibe. Other must-see attractions are the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour and The Rocks. If you've got extra time, take a trip to the beautiful Blue Mountains.
